::So I went to a Metal Show... even though I don't like Metal.

I am at a very metal Christmas, which seems to be held in a gym at a daycare... It is a new venue opening up called the B.A.T. Look for more coming up from them on facebook.... lots of talent booked at this show... but I only caught 2 of the bands on the line-up Above all Nations, and Ampheon.

So the first band, Called Above All Nation, from New Castle, Indiana they talked with the audience about what the next song was about, but I fail heavily to discern lyrics. But what I can tell you is that I very much observed passionate musicianship, with probably the most high-energy show of many of shows I have attended! They jumped up and down and danced on stage.

I put my phone on silent, because if it did ring, I might be mugged for my Bon Jovi ringtone lol. Just kidding Im sure, but just to be sure lol.

The show seemed pretty well attended for not being in a bar. At my estimate... almost 50 people were clustered in the gym.

The DJ in between the bands is not playing metal... more like techno... it amuses me.

Band # 2 on the list was Ampheon.

Ampheon has a very talented lead vocalist in Jake Lentz, he presents vocals on a way that is almost on a likeable scale for non metal fans, which if you read from the beginning I am definitely not a metal fan, I do like some Metallica songs, but lets be fair, even I know thats not really Metal.

Jake alternated deep resonating slightly melodic tones, with the higher pitched really LOUD tones.

This was coupled with lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and bass and drums which just freaking kicked major ass.

For example here is an intro into one of their songs show casing their awesome talent.

You could feel the music throughout your entire body. The way the lights played out around lead vocalist, he had this pool of amber light around his head, which could be seen as angelic, but no... it was more akin to opening up the Ark of the Covenant at the end of the Indiana Jones flick, Raiders of the Lost Ark A Face Melting Aura ... I am certain, if faces would be melted, it would be by Ampheon.

What made Ampheon's set for me was Jake's comedic crowd-play. He cracks me up. But he worked the crowd like a boss, which is lacking with other bands I've seen among other genres on any stage, and getting the crowd excited and involved in the show makes the difference between a good show and a kick-ass show.

He admonished the audience to get off their asses and dance and the results were lots of boys who were dancing, yet it also looked a little like a fight breaking out. I was a little frightened for my life. I felt similarly frightened watching West Side Story, the Sharks Vs. the Jets.

There last song called The Prestige was one of the best from the evening. I videotaped it.

Really an awesome experience and show even for me. Apparently this is a new venue opening up which will have more shows in the future. I am sure that it is appropriate to rage at a metal show. :)

That is all folks. If you like metal, you will have a great experience at any Ampheon Show. Hands down, guaranteed face melting good time, without the actual face melting. Also if you like to laugh and you like Metal, you should check out The Comedy Moshpit... look it up on facebook.
